I have always wanted to add an image in the sidebar text widget simply for the sheer challenge of it. I needed to do something new, or maybe I have seen it done somewhere else, and I wanted it for my blog too.

With that said, let’s get into the business of inserting image in the Text widget.
Insert Image in the Sidebar – Upload the Image
First of all, find an image and use photo editing tool to resize it to fit in the sidebar and upload it via Media>Add New from WordPress dashboard.
If you don’t then, then you’ll have to resize it later, which I will show you how.
Insert Image in the Sidebar – Get the URL
Once you’ve uploaded the image, you need to get the URL of the uploaded image. To get the URL, click on the uploaded image from the Media > Library. Click edit and a new window appears. Grab the URL value from the File URL box.

Insert Image in the Sidebar – Additional Settings
If you haven’t resize you’re original image, then the image might overlap the width of the sidbar, causing it to look odd. You can resize it by adding width and height property of the image.
So the above example becomes:

Note : Please don’t forget to begin and end the quotation around the value. Don’t use it if you don’t want to. It should work fine.
